To do the Coastal skipper practical course you will need to be at Coastal Skipper level theory. If you have already done this then you need read no further and you can book the practical course.
Theory can be done in two ways:-
As part of a two week Coastal Skipper combination theory and practical
course. (Previous experience required
= Day
Skipper level practical and theory plus 300 sea miles.) you spend the full
two weeks sailing and do the Coastal Skipper theory and practical whilst you
are aboard.
This is quite intensive and you should achieve the coastal skipper practical certificate. The course includes theory sufficient to get you through the practical course but dose not include a theory exam and certificate.
You can do our on line theory revision course, then just do the one week practical on the yacht. (Previous experience required = Day Skipper level practical and theory plus 300 sea miles.)
The RYA
require that all theory courses resulting in a theory certificate
should be carried out in a suitable classroom with the correct simulators
and visual aids. Allabroad has two fully fitted air conditioned classroom on
site at Marina Bay.
If you would like to obtain any of your theory certificates then contact
clare.

Feedback.
Hi Clare,
Hope you had a good Christmas. Happy New Year!! I will keep my belated feedback as short as possible as one of the first things I did on getting home was get a set of ridiculously long false nails & typing is a nightmare!! I have only got positive things to say about the course. I had a great time. The instructors were excellent, especially Martin & Matt, who really took the time to explain things over & over again, no matter how many times I asked (& it was a lot!), but still managed to make it a laugh. The office staff were always very helpful & if I raised any concerns with any staff member of ASA regarding crew swaps or areas I felt I was weak on they were always acted on immediately. I really appreciated having those two extra days berthing with Vic for example. I learnt a lot & he improved my confidence no end, especially with his stories of how stressful he found berthing at the beginning. I had a great time & would like to say a big thank-you to everyone for their help & support. I will definitely recommend ASA to anyone wanting to get their Yachtmaster! Best Wishes for a Happy 2007, Alison |
