 Towing another vessel.

Length of tow less than 200m

Sound signal in fog 1 long and 2 short blasts in intervals not less than 2 minutes.
Last vessel in the tow can give 1 long and three short blasts.

Vessel engaged in trawling.
Cone indicates direction of nets extending over 150m horizontally.

Starboard aspect.

Sound signal in fog 1 long and 2 short blasts in intervals not less than 2 minutes.

   
Vessel towing length of tow over 200m. Port aspect.

Sound signal in fog 1 long and 2 short blasts in intervals not less than 2 minutes.

Towed vessel sound signal in fog 1 long and 2 short blasts in intervals not less than 2 minutes.
Last vessel in the tow can give 1 long and three short blasts.

Vessel engaged in underwater operations. Restricted in ability to manoeuvre.
Starboard aspect.

Unsafe to pass on the starboard side pass on the port side.
If making way would carry normal navigation lights in addition to the underwater operations lights and the restricted in ability to manoeuvre lights.

Vessel engaged in fishing.

Vessel not under command (NUC).

If making way the vessel would show navigation lights at night.

Vessel aground.

Sound signal in fog 3 strokes of bell + rapid ringing of bell + 3 strokes of bell. (if over 100m followed by gong in intervals not less than 2 minutes.

At night would display not under command lights and an anchor light.

This is the sane as the day shapes 2 balls for NUC. and 1 ball for anchor.

Vessel restricted in ability to manoeuvre.

Port aspect.

Sound signal in fog 1 long and 2 short blasts in intervals not less than 2 minutes.

 

Minesweeper.

Starboard aspect.

Sound signal in fog 1 long and 2 short blasts in intervals not less than 2 minutes.

Motor vessel less than 12m in length.

Mast head light, stern light and side lights stern light and masthead light may be combined at the masthead.

Sound signal in fog 1 long blast in intervals not less than 2 minutes.

Motor vessel between 12m and 20m.

Mast head light, stern light and side lights. Side lights may be combined at the bow.

Sound signal in fog 1 long blast in intervals not less than 2 minutes.

Motor vessels under 7m.

All round white light optional side lights.

Sound signal in fog 1 long blast in intervals not less than 2 minutes.

Lights carried by a yacht.

When sailing 3 and 4. or alternatively 1 (tricolour) on its own.

When motoring 3,4 and 2 bicolour, stern light and steaming light.

Never have the tricolour(1) on with the bicolour (3) or stern light (4) or the steaming light (2)
