Yachtmaster.

Or STCW 95 Yachtmaster.

Preparation and exam.

6 nights aboard 5 days sailing including exam.

Yachtmaster is the ultimate goal for anyone who wishes to take their sailing seriously and use it for a commercial licence.
If you wish to become a charter skipper, teach, deliver yachts or be a resident skipper on a super yacht this is best qualification.

We run 14 week Fastrack courses novice to Yachtmaster courses. (See fastrack on the menu bar).

Also available cruising instructor and Yachtmaster Ocean courses.

For the Yachtmaster prep and exam you need to have a  good knowledge of navigation, collision regulations, lights, shapes and sound signals. You should to be able to handle a yacht under sail in close quarter situations.

If you are not sure about the level you are at but have the required miles etc then we recommend you do the prep over two weeks. The extra week is quite often worth it. The course is very intense and includes lots of yacht handling, blind navigation, MOB under sail, sailing alongside and mooring.

Pre course requirements. 2500 tidal sea miles or 1250 tidal sea miles and 1250 non tidal sea miles.
6 passages over 60 miles 2 overnight and two as skipper all within the last ten years.

Dick Durham from Yachting Monthly wrote about us in the Magazine.
He wrote " What I like about Allabroad is their commitment to every student. This is an excellent sailing school and is highly recommended" I passed my Yachtmaster with them after a five day Yachtmaster preparation course.

Tom Cunliff pictured right on one of our charter yachts said "A great school and great yachts"
Tom wrote about us in Sailing today.

If you are looking for first class Yachtmaster Exam Preparation then this is the best place for you to do it. The weather is fair and the instructors first class. The yachts used for the prep are ideal for the task, respond well and are clean and modern with all the latest navigation gear and radar.

Have a look on our free forum or even post a not and ask. There is no better recommendation than our previous clients.

Feedback.

I thoroughly enjoyed my course and was totally happy with all aspects of the content, the instructor was excellent and always pitched it at the right level.  The administration handled by Clare was also excellent and I had a most interesting 5 days which I enjoyed fully.

Yes I would use your company again.

Good luck for the future.

To be a yacht skipper requires more than just sailing skills.

A yacht should be happy and pleasant experience  for everyone on board.
The Captain Bligh days are long gone.

A good skipper will never shout at the crew.

If everything is explained properly by the skipper beforehand then everyone will know what to do and everything will run smoothly.

A skipper that shouts is usually covering up a lack of communication skills and possibly poor yacht handling skills.
